Doctor Stephanie West is a Consultant ophthalmic surgeon at Southampton General Hospital. She has extensive expertise in treating adult and pediatric ocular motility problems with medical, surgical and optical treatments.
Doctor West is previous Clinical Lead and Deputy Clinical Lead of Ophthalmology Care Group at University Southampton Foundation Trust. She is also on the board of directors for the Association of Ophthalmologists Specialist Indemnity Scheme 'AOOSIS' and contributed to 20 publications.
After graduating from Southampton University Medical School, Doctor West completed specialist ophthalmology training in the highly regarded centres of Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham and The Bristol Eye Hospital. She subsequently undertook two years of subspecialty training in paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus including a prestigious fellowship at Sickkids, Toronto.
Doctor West gained extensive knowledge and training in treating children's eye diseases and squints and achieved significant improvement of service quality in pediatric ophthalmology outpatients in Moorfield’s Eye Hospital.
In addition to her clinical work, Miss West participates in advisory boards for the pharmaceutical industry on Femto cataract surgery and treatment of retinopathy of prematurity.
