He was trained across the UK, Japan, and Egypt. He completed a Ph.D. from the world-renowned Kyoto University in Japan focusing on retinal diseases, in 2015.

    His clinical experience is focused on Medical and surgical retinal diseases as well as complex cataract surgeries. Dr. Ellabban has performed more than 10,000 cataract surgeries using the latest technology.

    He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Hull York Medical School and a Regional Lead (Yorkshire Deanery) at Ophthalmology Local Training (OLT) Programme.

    Dr. Ellabban has a particular interest in research and training, and he has over 40 publications in leading eye research journals. His research was presented in major ophthalmology meetings across the world.

    Dr. Ellabban was invited as a guest speaker to many national and international meetings. He participated in over 15 multicenter trials investigating new modalities for treatments for retinal diseases.
