Professor DeBerardino is an Orthopaedic Surgery Professor at UT Health in San Antonio, TX, USA. He is the Division Chair of Sports Medicine, and Head Team Orthopaedic Surgeon for the UTSA Roadrunners, the XFL San Antonio Brahmas, and the San Antonio Spurs. He was awarded the AAOS Kappa Delta Award in 2019. He has published many publications about sports-related injuries, which is his area of interest. Professor DeBerardino came to the US from Germany in 1985. He settled in eastern Tolland County and began working as an orthopedic consultant in 2009. He spent seven years as an Associate Professor at UCONN Health before becoming the Medical Director at the Burkhart Research Institute of Orthopaedics (BRIO) for four years. Currently, he's the Division Chair of Sports Medicine at UT Health San Antonio.
