Professor Rinaldi is a consultant hematologist at United Lincolnshire Hospital Trust specializing in myeloid malignancies including myelodysplastic syndrome, myeloproliferative neoplasm, and acute myeloid leukemia. He is also the Divisional Clinical Director for Clinical Support Services and Deputy Director of Clinical Research Facilities. He is involved in several National and International research and translational projects, particularly in the field of chronic myeloproliferative neoplasia.
Prof. Rinaldi completed his primary training in Italy at University Federico II Naples, where he gained his MD, followed by Haematology specialist training and a PhD in Biotechnology.
Prof. Rinaldi has been working as a consultant hematologist in the United Kingdom since 2010 and became an Honorary Professor in Haematology at the University of Lincoln in 2015 where he leads the myelodysplastic syndrome and myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN/MDS) molecular biology lab focusing on Philadelphia-negative MPN and abnormal pathways in MDS. His experience extends to more than 20 years.
Prof. Rinaldi started his research work during his specialist training and he continued to conduct research at the University of Illinois in Chicago resulting in several publications in prestigious journals.
He has published several articles on alternative pathways in myelodysplastic syndrome and myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN/MDS) during his work at the University of Illinois (UIC) in Chicago, USA which led to receiving his PhD degree.
He is currently running 4 clinics: 2 general haematology clinics (Myeloma, Leukemia), 1 lymphoma clinic, and 1 MPD clinic for an average number of 130 patients per week and he is responsible for teaching medical students and junior doctors.
