Dr Tarek Gaber is a consultant in neurorehabilitation with over 20 years of experience. He practised at various NHS-renowned hospitals throughout his career. He has also pursued his academic career in research and teaching and he received multiple awards for both his clinical and research work.

He received his speciality training at Cambridge University Teaching Hospital (Addenbrooke’s Hospital) where he trained in Neurological, Musculoskeletal, Cardiac, and Amputee rehabilitation modules’. He trained in spinal cord injury rehabilitation at the National Spinal injuries rehabilitation Centre (Stoke Mandeville). And at Norwich Primary Care Trust for training in Neurological, community, pain, palliative, special seating, and assistive technology rehabilitation modules.
From 2002 to 2018 he was responsible for comprehensive medical leadership at Taylor Neurological Rehabilitation Unit which was the principal provider of inpatient rehabilitation services for more than 600.000 residents in Bolton and Wigan. He was also responsible for the assessment of patients in acute hospitals or regional neurosciences centres in Manchester and Liverpool.
He has a body of research work that includes more than 50 articles published in peer-reviewed journals and his book ''case studies in neurological rehabilitation'' published by Cambridge University Press in 2008 was translated to 3 languages. His teaching activities includes holding the position of the director of Rehabilitation Medicine training programme at North West Deanery (2013). He was also the author of 10 percent of teaching material used nationally by BSRM. And was the co-ordinator of monthly rehabilitation medicine teaching programme (North West deanery from 2008 to 2012.
