Dr. Rudrapathy graduated from Madras University, India, where he trained in ENT surgery first. He obtained the FRCS (Otolaryngology) diploma from The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and began training in Audiovestibular Medicine as a Senior Registrar because of his long-standing interest in hearing and balance-related problems.
Dr. Rudy Palaniappan has nearly 30 years of experience in the diagnosis and medical management of patients with dizziness, tinnitus, and hearing impairment.
He has had very broad and well-structured training in diagnostic and rehabilitative audiovestibular medicine in some of the major teaching hospitals in London. This included training in adult and pediatric audiology, neuro-otology, rehabilitation, developmental disorders of speech and language, glue ear, and tinnitus clinics.
He works at The Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital as a full-time consultant in the adult audiovestibular medicine/neuro-otology department and carries out four neuro-otology clinics and two audiological rehabilitation clinics per week and once a month special hearing clinic for Thalassaemia sufferers.
He regularly teaches in the various audiology courses at the Ear Institute and lectures internationally. He is involved in research and has published widely and lectured nationally on his areas of expertise.
