Dr. Vinvey is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Birmingham. His specialist areas of interest include Testicular and Prostate diseases. Dr. Viney also works alongside staff at The Fertility Centre at The Priory Hospital. Dr.Viney has contributed to over 14 publications.
Dr. Viney qualified from the University of Birmingham Medical school with the Kings Heath and Moseley Scholarship. He undertook his basic and higher surgical training in the region whilst gaining a Masters in health care management and a PhD in immune responses and gene therapy in prostate cancer. His experience extends to more than 29 years.
He is a senior lecturer at the University of Birmingham and is actively involved in ongoing research and trial work. His specialist areas of interest include Testicular and Prostate diseases, as well as offering minimal access solutions to kidney problems. Dr. Viney has a reputation for innovation in the management of complex urological trauma, winning national awards and international recognition for his work.
Dr. Viney's research interests reflect his surgical interests. he also has laboratory interests in immune responses in prostate and testicular cancer and is part of a wider group looking at immune responses and urinary biomarkers in bladder cancer. He has clinical trial interests in gene and immunotherapy in prostate cancer. He is also involved in the delivery of the ADUP gene therapy trial in prostate cancer and the HYMN trial in superficial bladder cancer.
Dr. Viney also works alongside staff at The Fertility Centre at The Priory Hospital to help men who have no sperm in their ejaculate. He performs surgical sperm recoveries using both standard and microdissection techniques to isolate sperm that can be frozen and used for fertility treatment.
