Professor Giulio Santoro is Chief of the Pelvic Floor Unit and Consultant General Surgeon and Colorectal Surgeon, Department of Surgery Treviso Regional Hospital, Italy and Professor of Gastrointestinal Surgery at University of Padua, Italy and Honorary Professor at Shandong University, China. He is Director of the Italian School of Pelvic Floor Ultrasonography and Past-President of the Italian Society of Colorectal Surgery. He has performed over 2000 interventions as first operator in General Surgery, Abdominal and Colorectal Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery, Pelvic Floor, Proctological Surgery, Kidney Harvesting and Transplantation Activities.

    Professor Giulio A.Santoro graduated from Faculty of Medicine, University of Naples, Italy in 1991, where he then served as Surgical Registrar for 1 year and Surgical Resident for 5 years. He also joined a number of places as Surgical Resident, including Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and St. Mark's Hospital. His experience extends for more than 30 years.

    He is currently Chief of the Third Referral Center Pelvic Floor and Consultant General Surgeon and Colorectal Surgeon, Department of Surgery at Treviso Regional Hospital, Italy for 23 years. He was Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.

    He also holds academic appointments as Professor of Gastrointestinal Surgery at University of Padua, Italy and Honorary Professor of Surgery at Shandong University, China. Prof.Santoro is Director of the Italian School of Pelvic Floor Ultrasonography and Past-President of the Italian Society of Colorectal Surgery.

    He is co-editor of Techniques in Coloproctology and member of the editorial board of World Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery, Female Pelvic Medicine Reconstructive Surgery, Journal of Ultrasonography and Pelviperineology. He is also author of more than 250 chapters and articles published on peer-review journals as well as the author of five books (Atlas of Endoanal and Endorectal Ultrasonography; Benign Anorectal Diseases; Pelvic Floor Disorders; Rectal Cancer; Pelvic Floor Disorders: a Multidisciplinary Textbook). He was in the faculty of more than 300 international congresses, workshops and courses. He was president of the National Congress of Colorectal Surgery, Treviso 2015.
