He is the past general secretary of FIGO, which is the most prominent society in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has contributed to an enormous scientific output of over 1500 scientific papers and more than 100 books on his field of expertise.
Prof. Gian Carlo Di Renzo is currently a professor of Obstetrics, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and Gynecology Coordinator, Centre for Perinatal and Reproductive Medicine University of Perugia, Italy, a Professor at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Wayne State University, Detroit, USA, past General Secretary, FIGO, and Editor in Chief, Journal of Maternal Fetal and Neonatal Medicine (UK).
He was the General Secretary of the Italian Society of Perinatal Medicine, President of the Italian Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Secretary-Treasurer of the European Association of Perinatal Medicine, Executive Director and Chairman of the Educational Committee, Vice President of the World Association of Perinatal Medicine
He is a founding member of the World Association of Perinatal Medicine, the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the International Academy of Perinatal Medicine.
His scientific production comprises over 1,500 papers of which more than 480 have been published in peer-reviewed international journals and more than 100 books. He has been an invited speaker in over 1,500 national and international congress meetings and academic courses in over 120 countries.
