Prof. Dr. Archavlis is the esteemed Chief Physician at the Interdisciplinary Spine Center Frankfurt and the Department of Neurosurgery at Elisabethen Hospital. Since April 2019, he has been at the forefront of neurosurgical advancements, overseeing more than 100 challenging surgical procedures monthly and attending to over 1000 patients annually in both inpatient and outpatient capacities. Under his leadership, Elisabethen Hospital, a 250-bed academic teaching institution, has become renowned for its interdisciplinary excellence in various medical fields, including Spine Surgery, Neurosurgery, and Orthopedics.
Beyond his clinical expertise, Prof. Archavlis also excels in academia as an Adjunct Professor of Neurosurgery at the Frankfurt Branch of the European University of Cyprus, Assoc. Professor of the University of Mainz and Professor of the University of Apllied Sceinces (IU). He is instrumental in shaping the careers of future healthcare professionals, providing superior training and supervision to residents, physician assistants, and medical students. Prof. Eleftherios Archavlis the chief physician of the Interdisciplinary Spine Center Frankfurt and the Department of Neurosurgery at the Elisabethen Hospital. In his department, which he founded in April 2019, more than 100 surgical procedures of increased difficulty are carried out every month and more than 1000 patients are treated as inpatients or outpatients. Elisabethen Hospital with a capacity of 250 beds, is an academic teaching hospital that provides medical education and training to future and current health professionals.
His hospital operates different interdisciplinary centers of excellence. The topic of his professoral habilitation thesis in the University of Mainz was "Less Invasive Techniques in Complex Spinal Surgery". His doctoral thesis in the University of Frankfurt was about “Timing of Cranioplasty”. In the course of his work, he has gained many years of professional experience in the demanding field of neurosurgery and have performed a large number of surgical interventions and conservative therapies.
Prof. Archavlis has covered the entire surgical and conservative field of neurosurgery and intensive care medicine. He is actively engaged in different research projects which focus in minimally invasive surgery and enhanced recovery. He has more than 50 publications peer-reviewed influential journals.
Until 2019 he was senior consultant at the University Hospital Mainz and until now as adjunct professor of the University of Mainz, professor of the IU and adjunct professor of the EUC, he is responsible for the supervision and training of residents , physician assistants and medical students. Due to his additional training as a specialist in general medicine, he has in-depth knowledge of the entire field of general medicine.
