    He has extensive experience in the diagnosis, management and treatment of allergic conditions including food allergy, anaphylaxis, urticaria (hives), angioedema (swelling), drug allergy, Aspirin allergy testing, hayfever, house dust mite allergy, Pet allergies, bee & wasp venom allergies, Insulin allergy, Excipient Allergies, PEG allergy, Insulin Allergy and Chlorhexidine allergy.

    He set up the Aspirin nasal challenge and desensitisation service at Northern General Hospital. His interests include specialist allergy testing, investigating hidden allergens and problems with the immune system (antibody deficiency). Dr Ravishankar Sargur was awarded the iWantGreatCare Certificate of Excellence in 2021, 2022 and 2023 for delivering outstanding care.

    He is a Trustee and Steering Committee Member of the British Society of Immunology, Clinical Immunology Professional Network (BSI-CIPN) and an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sheffield.

    Dr Sargur has a strong track record of leadership and management. He is the former Training Programme Director for Immunology in Yorkshire, Humber, and East Midlands and the former Chair of the JRCPTB Immunology Specialty Advisory Committee at the Royal College of Physicians.

    He is a member of the UKAS Professional Advisory Committee and the Steering Committee of QPIDS (Quality in Primary Immunodeficiency Services).

    He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and is a recognized expert in cryoglobulin measurement.
