Doctor Iyad Ismail is a Respiratory Consultant. Doctor Ismail was appointed at Heart of England Hospitals (HEFT) and started working in February 2015. Since then he has introduced innovative practice in respiratory medicine including remote monitoring of sleep patients, a dedicated outpatient pleural disease clinic, ambulatory management of pneumothorax and outpatient non-invasive ventilation (NIV) setups.
He was appointed as a lung cancer lead in December 2015 at HEFT and has made a big impact on the local lung cancer pathway to deliver high-quality care to local patients.
Doctor Ismail graduated from Jordan University of Science & Technology in 2000, after being awarded a merit scholarship throughout the medical school by the United Nations (UNRWA).
He completed his training in the UK in respiratory and general medicine in 2014 and he complimented that with a fellowship in interventional procedures from Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.
Doctor Ismail is actively involved in research related to lung cancer and pleural disease, this further helps to provide evidence-based practice, which benefits patient outcomes.
